Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) is the education goal. It aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
Target 4.c focuses on Professional Development of Teachers – “By 2030, substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers, including through international cooperation for teacher training in developing countries, especially least developed countries and small island developing states.”
Teacher education is essential to achieving at least four of the 10 targets for SDG 4. In many schools, colleges and universities the quality of education and learning is low. Part of the problem is a lack of qualified teachers.
To achieve these targets, KBR & HL Human Development Foundation:
- provides continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities to pre-service and in-service teachers at all levels of education including schools, colleges, universities in collaboration with government and non-government organizations
- trains teachers and other stakeholders at all levels of education on eLearning to design, develop and facilitate blended and online learning programmes.
- engages teachers in finding and sourcing Open Educational Resources (OER) for designing and developing online courses.
- trains teachers in designing and developing Moodle-enabled blended online learning courses.
